Privacy Policy

Minimal Data. Knot is designed to work locally on your device. We collect minimal information necessary for the app to function:

• App usage patterns (stored locally on your device)
• Focus session statistics (stored locally)
• NFC device pairings (stored locally)
• Screen Time API permissions (managed by iOS)

Local-First Approach. All your personal data, focus history, and preferences are stored exclusively on your iPhone. We do not sync your data to our servers or any cloud service.

Your iCloud backup (if enabled) may include Knot data as part of your device backup, but this is managed entirely by Apple and governed by their privacy policies.

We don't share your data. Period. We don't sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We don't use analytics or tracking services. Your focus journey is yours alone.

Knot uses Apple's Screen Time API to help you manage app access. When you enable blocking features, Knot requests permission to access Screen Time controls. This permission is granted and managed directly by iOS, not by us.

We only use Screen Time API to implement the blocking features you explicitly configure. We never access Screen Time data beyond what's necessary for these features.

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

• Access: View all your data within the app at any time
• Delete: Delete your data by uninstalling the app or using in-app reset options
• Control: Manage all permissions through iOS Settings

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the app and on our website. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app.
